The Berridale Chamber of Commerce,
Councillors and Council staff, recently conducted a walk through of the
Berridale Shopping Centre, to finalise details of the proposed
landscaping project on the nature strip between Kozciusco Rd and the
parking area. The landscaping is based on a plan commissioned by the
Chamber and consists of new pathways as well as a variety of shrubs and
plants designed to beautify and improve the ambience of the area. It is
hoped that by making the area more attractive, not only residents can
enjoy the area, but more tourists will be tempted to stop, bringing more
business to the town. This is a community project, with both the
Berridale Chamber of Commerce and the Berridale Lions Club providing
voluntary labour with assistance and oversight from SRSC. If all goes
well work will commence on the second half of November.
The Berridale Inn has changed hands, having
been bought by Gabe
Zulian a long time property owner in the area who has long term plans to
renovate this historic site. As the hotel is such a key part of the
Berridale Community, this is good news for the town. We wish him well.
